What does Sinar Global Hygiene specialise in?
Sinar Global Hygiene (SGH) provides specialised hygiene, environmental and contamination-control solutions for commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional and high-performance environments. Our approach goes beyond conventional cleaning: we help organisations identify, control and reduce sources of contamination through assessment, technology and preventive maintenance. Our services include contamination-control matting, antimicrobial surface treatment, indoor air quality assessment, surface contamination analysis, moisture and mould risk assessment, and ventilation and airflow evaluation.

Services

What is contamination control, and why does it matter?
Contamination control is the systematic prevention, reduction and management of unwanted particles, microorganisms, moisture and other contaminants in an environment. It matters most in facilities where cleanliness and environmental control directly affect product quality, patient safety, manufacturing performance, regulatory compliance or operational reliability. We help clients identify contamination pathways and put in place controls suited to their facility and risk profile.
Do we really need specialised contamination-control solutions?
If your facility depends on cleanliness for product quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance or equipment performance, visual cleanliness alone isn't enough. Up to 80% of contamination in controlled environments enters at floor level, mainly through foot and wheel traffic (source). Without dedicated contamination control, that risk tends to show up later, as batch rejection, failed audits or higher long-term costs.
Can SGH assess contamination, not just clean it?
Yes. Our approach increasingly focuses on measurement, assessment and prevention, not just visual cleanliness. Depending on the application, we assess surface contamination and environmental conditions to help identify contamination sources, establish baseline conditions and evaluate whether corrective measures are working, so decisions are based on evidence rather than appearance.
What is surface contamination analysis?
It's the assessment of contaminants present on surfaces in a facility. A surface can look clean while still carrying significant particulate or microbiological contamination. We help identify areas of concern, set appropriate sampling strategies and check whether cleaning and contamination-control measures are achieving the required outcome. Our methodology also includes before-and-after surface testing to verify certain treatments.
What is antimicrobial nano-coating?
It's a specialised surface treatment that adds antimicrobial protection to treated surfaces. The treatment forms a functional protective layer that can help inhibit the growth or persistence of microorganisms on suitable surfaces. Our offering is a non-toxic antibacterial and antiviral surface treatment designed for extended hygienic protection. Suitability depends on the surface material, environment, required performance and the manufacturer's specifications.
How long does an antimicrobial surface treatment last?
It depends on the coating technology, surface, environmental conditions, cleaning frequency and chemical exposure. Some systems protect for several months; specialised applications may need different maintenance intervals. We assess your application and recommend a treatment and maintenance programme, rather than assuming one coating suits every environment.
Can SGH assess indoor air quality (IAQ)?
Yes. We provide IAQ assessment services to help organisations understand the environmental conditions inside their buildings. Depending on scope, parameters can include temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, particulate matter and other relevant indoor environmental indicators. The goal is to identify potential IAQ issues and give practical recommendations for improvement.
Why does indoor air quality matter if a building looks clean?
Visual cleanliness doesn't tell you about indoor environmental quality. Airborne particles, excessive humidity, inadequate ventilation and elevated carbon dioxide aren't visible, but they can affect occupant comfort, building performance and hygiene. An IAQ assessment gives you objective information to catch problems that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Can SGH identify moisture and mould risks before they become a problem?
Yes. Moisture is one of the key factors behind mould growth and building hygiene problems. We assess areas where moisture intrusion, condensation, humidity or inadequate drying may create conditions favourable to mould, so risk conditions are caught early, before a visible mould problem becomes extensive.
What is ventilation and airflow evaluation?
It examines how effectively air moves through a building or controlled environment. Poor airflow can cause stagnant areas, inadequate ventilation, uneven conditions and ineffective contaminant removal. We evaluate airflow and ventilation and recommend improvements where needed. This matters most in controlled environments, healthcare facilities, laboratories, manufacturing areas and high-occupancy buildings.
Your price is higher than general cleaning. Why?
Our pricing reflects specialist technology and results, not a general cleaning rate. We use validated methods such as waterless dry carpet cleaning, nano-coating, contamination-control matting and structured maintenance programmes, with processes aligned to ISO 9001:2015. General cleaning removes visible dirt; our solutions are designed to prevent contamination before it enters critical areas. We don't publish prices online: every quotation follows a site assessment, so you pay for what your facility actually needs.
Can you work in sensitive or controlled facilities?
Yes. Our contamination-control and hygiene services are already used in semiconductor, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, healthcare and data-centre environments, where controlled access and strict protocols are standard. We work within each facility's own access and safety requirements.

CC Matting

What is CC Polymeric Contamination Control Matting?
CC Polymeric Matting is a high-performance contamination-control system designed to capture and retain particles carried into controlled areas by footwear, wheels and equipment. Unlike disposable peel-off tacky mats, it uses a permanently tacky polymer surface to attract, collect and retain contaminants. It's designed for entrances and transition points where controlling particle transfer matters.
How is CC Matting different from peel-off tacky mats?
Peel-off mats need frequent removal and replacement once their surface loads up with contaminants. CC Matting is a longer-life, cleanable solution: the surface is cleaned to restore performance instead of continually replacing disposable sheets. It maintains effectiveness through multiple overstrikes, has an expected lifespan of about 4 to 5 years and is fully recyclable, which can reduce recurring consumable costs, waste and maintenance work.
Where should contamination-control matting be installed?
The right location depends on your contamination-control strategy. Typical spots include cleanroom entrances, gowning areas, airlocks and transition zones, production areas, laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, healthcare environments and food production areas. We assess how people, materials and equipment move through your facility and recommend suitable locations and configurations.
How effective is CC Matting at removing particles from footwear and wheels?
The polymeric surface is designed to attract, collect and retain particles transferred by footwear and wheels. Per CC Matting's own information, it can retain up to 99.9% of foot- and wheel-borne particles, from over 100 microns down to the nanometre range. Actual performance depends on installation location, traffic, cleaning regime, footwear, wheel type and facility conditions.
Does CC Matting need replacing when it gets dirty?
No. One of the main advantages of permanent polymeric matting is that it's cleaned and reused, not thrown away. The recommended process is mopping and squeegee drying to remove accumulated contaminants and restore the tacky surface. This is fundamentally different from disposable peel-off mats, which are discarded once their usable surface is contaminated.

Do you have relevant safety and technical documentation?
Yes. SGH is ISO 9001:2015 certified for quality management. We provide a compliance dossier covering our certifications on request, and CC Matting engagements include Particle Collection Efficiency Test (PCET) reports. Download the compliance dossier.
Are your solutions environmentally friendly?
Yes, where relevant. SGH holds the MyHIJAU Mark, issued by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), for our cleaning services. CC Matting is fully recyclable, and our dry carpet cleaning service uses a waterless method. We look for reusable and lower-impact options across our equipment and chemical range wherever we can.

Can SGH develop a customised hygiene programme for our facility?
Yes. No single hygiene programme suits every facility. We start by understanding your facility, operational requirements, contamination risks and performance objectives, then recommend a combination of services and scheduled work built around your site.
How does SGH decide which solution is right for our facility?
We start with the problem and the risk, not a default product. Our process typically covers: understanding your facility and operations, identifying contamination pathways, running an appropriate site assessment, establishing baseline conditions where needed, recommending suitable controls, implementing the agreed solution, verifying performance where appropriate, and setting up a maintenance or monitoring programme.
How do we arrange an assessment or get a quotation?

Where appropriate, we'll arrange a site assessment before recommending a solution. Can the work be done without disrupting our operations?
Yes. We plan site assessments and scheduled work around your operating hours, access requirements and any facility restrictions. For live production or healthcare environments, we agree timing and access with you in advance, so the work fits around your operations.

After engagement

Does SGH only provide one-off services?
No. We provide both one-off assessments and planned hygiene programmes. For organisations with ongoing requirements, we develop scheduled programmes covering assessment, treatment, maintenance, verification and follow-up, so you can plan services in advance, maintain continuity and avoid unexpected maintenance costs.
Can you prove the result?
For CC Matting, we run an annual Particle Collection Efficiency Test (PCET) and tackiness test, with a full report, twice in the first year and then annually. For contamination-control engagements more broadly, we can assess surface contamination before and after treatment, so results are based on evidence, not visual inspection alone.
